The Struggles Of Advocacy

These pages are compiled of a series of articles that I have written in an attempt to promote understanding and solicit empathy for the plight of those that are less fortunate than we are.

In my attempts of changing my community for the better, I have had to learn the hard way - that it is true - some of the "old guard" that comprise what is loosely called the "leadership" of our local community maintain a strong hold on the prevention of positive growth and the nourishment of positive change. The old guard continues, as those that have gone before have set an example that this is the path to success in local politics and social action. I disagree.

Election 2009 7 Day Countdown - Better Late Than Never
by
Robert Stanford

This was suppose to be up by now, I suppose. Running a little late with the daily reports from the campaign trail. I am sure you understand. Or perhaps you do not. Whoever you are.

The blog site - http://thehive.modbee.com/?q=blog/15811 at the Modesto Bee Website has been somewhat interesting, but at the very same time it becomes more obvious every day. Or perhaps it does not.

Techniques are thrown out, seemingly randomly by development community users and some mentally ill individuals. Their success, in their eyes, is to see my failure with them. Or perhaps I am mistaken.

After being an active blogger there for over 2 years now, practically daily, I would have to say that they are all extremely lame.

I am torn between my desire for them to be more accurate and effective and not wanting anything to do with it at all, because if it were up to par, it would be hard to determine just where it would go. I think it would be exciting. Or perhaps it would be dull and trite.

I am often tempted to provide the fodder for them. I have in the past. I shall again when I feel it is appropriate and the right thing to do for the right reasons. Though it's a shame they are so lazy. Or perhaps they don't see it that way or just assume that what they do not see, must not exist.

And then of course, in this lies the upside to the assumption that I will not be successful in this race. Though I am insulted that I am accused of things that are not based in reality, there is definitely something to be gained from it now. Unless if this is the worse it gets, I am not home free. Or perhaps I am.

Of course all of these experiences that I speak of are limited to the sphere of influence of the Modesto Bee. Not that it does not seem to spring leaks and try to leak out to other spheres.

I have a facebook account that I have had for some months now.

Another candidate and a cousin of mine started going back and forth about some Obama political issues. I was not too happy about that. Though I would have been ok if they would have been. Perhaps they were.

This series of articles I am doing as a daily countdown to the election becomes posted there as a shared link of one of my two Google blog sites:

http://www.modestocitycouncil.blogspot.com

Since this will be posted on both blogs, as well as posted on my articles library here:

No not much really.

And then of course there is http://BlogTalkRadio.Com

This site has the archives of the Morning Mayor with your host, Carmen Sabatino. I was on the show yesterday, actually. That became a bit tense.

Like the Modesto Bee Hive, the Morning Mayor Shows audience size is a bit hard to determine. Lots of red paint in those numbers. Guesswork, if you will. Or perhaps I just really am not privy to their traffic analysis, again, just like the Modesto Bee.

Of course yesterday, Carmen Sabatino came at me like some sort of left wing reactionist.

Quite noble indeed.

Noble to the point that I could plainly see that I was being deliberately misunderstood regarding my experiences as I reported regarding the terrible twos.

I can appreciate the necessity to examine the likelihood that without a proper needle exchange program in place, approximately 100 lives have been lost, if not more since the Stanislaus Grand Jury made it's recommendation. I feel it may have been further exacerbated by this illicit operation however. But I have some facts others seem to not have nor want to have for their individual reasons, I suppose.

It was charming, to say the least. As soon as I can uncover a nice little nugget of corruption at Modesto City Hall, I am sure I will be back in his great good graces again. Maybe it all depends on how much one really reads as to how much they assume about what has been written. Or perhaps not.

It does seem as though it would be nice fodder for the Modesto Bee Hive, but you know, probably does not hold a lot of value to the current Hive high population for discrediting me as a fit Modesto City Council candidate.

Of course, as I explained on the show yesterday, it's more of a County Issue anyway.

Not that this has ever stopped them before, mind you.

Much to the horror of some in my camp, I have had to step in at a couple places on the Hive and point out some things. It's all too easy to forget that people don't generally have a chance to catch up when they first start reading. That seems to be a point of contention I have from continuing to accept the advice that I should not participate beyond posts on the Modesto Bee Hive. No interaction with those users that I despise so much. Or perhaps I do not despise them so much. No, certainly not now. They are truly a blessing in disguise. Or perhaps….a curse.

And for the record, I have only one username. I am the only spokesperson for this campaign and this article is not written exclusively for the Hive nor to the Hive.

Or perhaps it is.
